Books and Reading... YUM::::::::::::::::

Fairy coming out of a bOok.

I am not as avid as before... I still grow voracious & ravenous at the sight of books though. But time is so little... and recently, I chose some boring novels to read... usually I select my reads randomly, but I discovered that it didn't work with me when I was so busy with work. It would have been much better if I had carefully chosen my reads...

First I read "Thanks for the Memories" by Cecelia Ahern which was a waste of time... I thought it would be as interesting as "If You Could See Me Now", but it was sooooo boring and predictable! Once a book disappoints me, I find it very difficult to write a proper review about it... I am very sorry about that.................... Immediately, I try hard to forget that I wasted time on it... However, some events are surely kept tucked away somewhere near the back of my head. As an advice, Don't read it... You'd better make time for "If You Could See me Now"..... Or "Kane & Abel" by Jeffrey Archer...  or Anne of the Green Gables.. or or.. The Kite Runner...

"Married to a Bedouin"!! I shall admit that this is another disappointment! really! I did not expect it would be so boring! You have no idea about the state of misery which I am going through just because of these books! And I still didn't finish reading this one.... The reason why I picked it was because the story was real... I couldn't believe that a woman would leave her nice toilet and Ac and wonderful weather just for the sake of a Bedouin whose commitment was not guaranteed! She also did not LOVE him blindly or he loved her madly... so it wasn't a love marriage or something! He just proposed when she was a tourist spending time in Jordan... and She accepted... You get the point? I was wondering.. at the age of 22, how could she cope with the different traditions, language, and religion of her husband... also, the way of life is completely different than what she's been used to! She had to live with him in a cave that had no electricity in! I know that any marriage requires sacrifice, but if you don't love him and if you're already living a peaceful life, why would you make such huge risks?

The disappointment lies in the fact that the writer is not a good narrator. She is not a novelist.. I could easily realize that the book missed structure & plots... It lacks details & I often felt lost. & unfortunately, it seems that the editors were not much of a help to her.

However, the meaning of the story weighs a lot. I find our society a little bit unfair. Many upper-class families refuse the proposals of middle-class men even though that a lot of such men are indeed considered gentle men in terms of having good manners and reputations! often, families refuse, thinking that their girls will not be able to cope with the changes...

The nice thing is that writer converted to ISLAM... and the nicest thing ever is that their marriage was a successful one :) Now this is something worthwhile to be known, isn't it?!
